May 20, 2024 Season 1 Episode 34
Dr. Juanita Collier, MS, OD, FCOVD

In today's episode, we explore the critical differences between various types of eye exams and why the traditional ones often miss issues affecting children's learning and development.

A key question in today's discussion is, why do children rarely report visual problems? We often assume their vision is normal, but the implications this has for diagnosis and treatment are very important.
The significance of behavioral optometry in detecting and addressing subtle yet impactful vision disorders early on is crucial.

We try to shed a light on common compensations for vision issues, the importance of foundational visual skills, and the profound impact that comprehensive vision care can have on a child's academic performance and confidence.

Remember that our 4D Built to Read program is designed to empower parents as junior vision therapists for their children.
